The truth comes out. Four people gather and address who
removed the bleeder valve from Roger’s car. Sure Burke tries to cover up for
David, but Victoria saw the valve in David’s drawer and that cannot be talked
away. She’s fed up having her character assassinated, but David’s disdain for
her will only grow, the little shit. David feared Roger would send him away.
Roger acts an ass, only getting worse after finally becoming convinced that
David, not Burke, is responsible for nearly killing him. Burke enjoying this
also is projected during the episode. Burke buddies up with David and vice
versa. David hates Victoria for “getting him in trouble” and he constantly
proclaims she’s lying. Why would she lie? It doesn’t work. Burke tries to say
that the valve was found on the road; he admits that David was in the inn room
for a short while, but his lie about meeting the kid on the road is discovered
by Roger. Roger’s ire is inflamed now that his nemesis is in the clear, and the
idea of sending David away seems ideal considering his role in the car wreck.
How will this all conclude? Will David get out of his jam? Will Roger send him
away? Can Elizabeth rescue the little turd? Will Victoria have to keep eyes
open for David as her telling on him perhaps endangers her? David did try to
kill his father; what makes Victoria not likely to get “pushed out an open
window”? How Burke finagled out of this one proves his mettle and resiliency.
David is a lot like Burke, and Dark Shadows Creative went out of its way to
produce quite the resourceful/clever kid who can think on his feet, in a hurry.
Burke interrupts what could have been a decent dinner between Maggie, her father, and Vicky, and he's sore, agenda-driven, and pointed in defending himself, while also demanding answers...answers Sam is willing to flee to protect. Sam's only link to Burke at all, besides Roger himself, is the letter he wrote to Maggie. He escapes out the back door while the others were in the living room and heads to Collins Port Inn where the letter is kept but the owner will not give it over to him. The letter is Maggie's and she will have to give permission before Sam can get his hands on it. Malloy's death looms large and will not go away--especially as long as Burke steamrolls throughout Collins Port, pissed off and unrestrained. He wants to know Sam's connection to the wrongful conviction and isn't about to just forget his presence at the meeting that night. Maggie just cannot believe that her father had anything at all to do with Malloy's death; Sam and Malloy were fr...
