I have no grand illusions that this blog, which has never taken off during its other previous incarnation, Scarecrow's Dark Shadows Blog, being a success. But currently I'm suffering a mental and creative anguish on a rather more successful blog, although it seemed to have reached its apex in May. It has since fallen on hard times. I begin to try and jazz up its look, moved about different writing styles, but admittedly nothing has since worked. And I realized that this absolute hole in the wall that might eventually find some eyes--but probably not--could be a place to get away as the other blog has occupied a bit too much professionalism approach. And it has become so robotic, prone to be "like everyone else" an episodic television-based blog instead of its initial cult beginnings. I noticed my blog trend upward, got caught up in it because for about three years it languished (not as bad as this blog, but I digress...), and tried to go that approach as it was giving me false hope that anything creative I might have to offer appealed to somebody. Then I realized that I was doing it all wrong. Baring creative energies to a blog, I wanted to spill from my tormented mind the words that follow plenty of what I watch. As if some need, some impulse, a nagging compulsion to do whatever it takes to hopefully keep attention on the writing. So as the downward tick started, and other blogs continued to maintain great degrees of success, it was humbling. I don't think this blog will even get off the ground, but just the same it might be a rabbit hole someone somewhere might stumble upon. And if that is so, I'm leaving that here.
Burke interrupts what could have been a decent dinner between Maggie, her father, and Vicky, and he's sore, agenda-driven, and pointed in defending himself, while also demanding answers...answers Sam is willing to flee to protect. Sam's only link to Burke at all, besides Roger himself, is the letter he wrote to Maggie. He escapes out the back door while the others were in the living room and heads to Collins Port Inn where the letter is kept but the owner will not give it over to him. The letter is Maggie's and she will have to give permission before Sam can get his hands on it. Malloy's death looms large and will not go away--especially as long as Burke steamrolls throughout Collins Port, pissed off and unrestrained. He wants to know Sam's connection to the wrongful conviction and isn't about to just forget his presence at the meeting that night. Maggie just cannot believe that her father had anything at all to do with Malloy's death; Sam and Malloy were fr...
